This section lists the API methods that changed in this release. Each link opens the method documentation with a note on what changed.

• ViewFunctionCalls (gRPC) — calls Move #[view] functions and returns their values without on-chain effects.

Modified methods

• iota_devInspectTransactionBlock — Dev Inspect Transaction Block. A transaction larger than the protocol limit max_tx_size_bytes is now rejected with a user error, the same limit that applies to submitted transactions.
• iota_dryRunTransactionBlock — Dry Run Transaction Block. A transaction larger than the protocol limit max_tx_size_bytes is now rejected with a user error, the same limit that applies to submitted transactions.
• iota_executeTransactionBlock — Execute Transaction Block. Move abort messages (clever errors) now include the error code of the abort when the abort constant declares one; command ordinals are written correctly (11th, 12th, 13th instead of 11st, 12nd, 13rd).
• iotax_getDynamicFields — Get Dynamic Fields. Pagination fix: a page no longer skips an unchanged entry when the dynamic field or object referenced by the cursor was removed, transferred or otherwise left the index between two requests.
• iotax_getOwnedObjects — Get Owned Objects. Pagination fix: a page no longer skips an unchanged entry when the dynamic field or object referenced by the cursor was removed, transferred or otherwise left the index between two requests.
• unsafe_batchTransaction — Batch Transaction. Gas selection fix: when gas is omitted, the node picks a gas coin from the sender's owned coins.
• unsafe_mergeCoins — Merge Coins. Gas selection fix: when gas is omitted, the node picks a gas coin from the sender's owned coins.
• unsafe_moveCall — Move Call. Gas selection fix: when gas is omitted, the node picks a gas coin from the sender's owned coins.
• unsafe_pay — Pay. Gas selection fix: when gas is omitted, the node picks a gas coin from the sender's owned coins.
• unsafe_publish — Publish. Gas selection fix: when gas is omitted, the node picks a gas coin from the sender's owned coins.
• unsafe_requestAddStake — Request Add Stake. Gas selection fix: when gas is omitted, the node picks a gas coin from the sender's owned coins.
• unsafe_requestWithdrawStake — Request Withdraw Stake. Gas selection fix: when gas is omitted, the node picks a gas coin from the sender's owned coins.
• unsafe_splitCoin — Split Coin. Gas selection fix: when gas is omitted, the node picks a gas coin from the sender's owned coins.
• unsafe_splitCoinEqual — Split Coin Equal. Gas selection fix: when gas is omitted, the node picks a gas coin from the sender's owned coins.

• iota_view — View. View functions (#[view]) are enabled on Mainnet from protocol version 36 (no earlier than epoch 507, September 24, 2026).
• unsafe_requestAddTimelockedStake — Request Add Timelocked Stake. Gas selection fix: when gas is omitted, the node picks a gas coin from the sender's owned coins.
• unsafe_requestWithdrawTimelockedStake — Request Withdraw Timelocked Stake. Gas selection fix: when gas is omitted, the node picks a gas coin from the sender's owned coins.
• ListDynamicFields, ListOwnedObjects, SimulateTransactions (gRPC) — pagination fix for the list methods; transactions above max_tx_size_bytes are rejected in simulation.
