Tezos

Tezos (XTZ) is a proof-of-stake Layer 1 smart contract platform using Tenderbake consensus, introduced by the Ithaca 2 protocol activation on April 1, 2022. Contracts are written in Michelson or compiled to Michelson from higher-level languages, while full nodes validate blocks and operations and maintain account, contract, storage, and protocol state. This Michelson-based execution model makes operations, contracts, big maps, and block context the native integration primitives rather than Ethereum-style EVM state.
