Monero (XMR) API Documentation

Monero

Monero (XMR) is a privacy-focused payments blockchain secured by RandomX proof of work, with tail emission beginning in May 2022 to maintain a permanent block reward. It does not provide a general-purpose smart contract VM; transactions use one-time outputs, ring signatures, stealth addresses, and key images, while full nodes validate blocks and maintain chain, output, spent-key-image, and mempool data. This CryptoNote-derived model makes privacy-preserving outputs and key images central integration primitives rather than transparent account balances or conventional UTXOs.

Monero API Methods and Endpoints

NOWNodes exposes Monero's interface, plus a few others, depending on what your integration needs: JSON-RPC for reading chain state and broadcasting transactions. Archive mode extends any of these to historical states and data beyond standard retention.

Browse the interfaces below for endpoint details, request parameters, response formats, and integration examples. Create an API key, select Mainnet or Testnet, choose the required interface, and start sending requests from your application.

Weighing Monero RPC providers against each other? Read the comparison guide on our blog — this page stays focused on integration reference.
