ICON
ICON (ICX) is an open-source Layer 1 smart contract network secured by delegated proof of stake, with validators elected through ICX staking and delegation. Smart contracts run as Java-based SCOREs on a JVM execution environment, while nodes execute transactions and maintain account, contract, block, and protocol state across the replicated ledger. This JVM-based model differs from EVM execution, so integrations center on ICON’s native accounts, SCORE calls, transactions, and JSON-RPC conventions rather than Ethereum bytecode compatibility.

NOWNodes exposes ICON's interface, plus a few others, depending on what your integration needs: JSON-RPC for reading chain state and broadcasting transactions. Archive mode extends any of these to historical states and data beyond standard retention.
