Base

Base (BASE) is an EVM-compatible Ethereum Layer 2 built on the OP Stack, where a sequencer orders L2 transactions and settlement ultimately inherits Ethereum’s proof-of-stake finality. Solidity and other EVM languages compile to EVM bytecode, while nodes execute transactions and maintain Ethereum-style account, contract-storage, block, receipt, and log state. Because Base preserves EVM semantics and OP Stack conventions, its application-facing model matches the JSON-RPC and tooling patterns shared by Ethereum and other EVM-compatible Layer 2 networks.

Base API Methods and Endpoints

NOWNodes exposes Base's interface, plus a few others, depending on what your integration needs: JSON-RPC for reading chain state and broadcasting transactions, WSS (WebSocket) for real-time subscriptions and events, Blockbook for indexed address, balance, transaction, and block lookups, and Trace/Debug for step-level execution analysis. Archive mode extends any of these to historical states and data beyond standard retention.
